01 · Where it started

Obsidi — talent network and events (formerly BPTN, Black Professionals in Tech Network)

As a solution architect I needed an automated tech plan, and a team of developers to deploy it without waiting on a bottleneck.

I also wanted to see who could join me on the new architecture, and take over the existing one.

02 · What I learned

Three things I learned and would pass on.

Osa came in with the architecture in his head and needed it built and run. Here is what he says mattered most, in his own words.

01

Do not overbuild at the start

Most tech people pay for an oversized system they do not need at the start. Scaling up — and scaling down — at the right time is what actually matters.

02

Be open about your needs from the start

Be direct with your partner about budget, cost limits and service expectations from day one. The more they know, the better they can meet it.

03

Show structure and sustainability

Always be ready with a long-term plan. Investors like to see systems and documented roadmaps.

03 · My story

The whole thing, start to finish.

I wanted an automated pipeline, so I brought in ScalePoynt for DevOps, security and infrastructure — to build a direct system that takes code from development to production at the click of a button.

04 · What I’m doing now

ScalePoynt still runs our automated system, deploying DevOps and security personnel.

Traffic spikes and downtime are handled automatically.

05 · Talk to me

How you can work with me.

I bridge the gap between complex automated infrastructure and a seamless human experience, and run an ecosystem that keeps evolving. Happy to talk to founders thinking about what to build now and what to leave until later.
