FAQ
Questions founders ask first.
Who is ScalePoynt for?
ScalePoynt Venture Studio is specifically for B2B SaaS Founders, at all stages of growth. Top 3 scenarios where Founders benefit the most:
1. Revenue before fundraising. Fundraising is challenging, or you have been down the venture road and prefer "investment to grow, not to survive", or you are fully bootstrapped.
2. Big enterprise customers. Enterprise customers demand more sophistication at an early stage; we know that landscape, and playbooked the key steps.
3. Exit planning. Founders keen on a meaningful exit, and who want to think about it as soon as Day 1.
Who are the Allstars and Coaches, where are they located?
Our Venture Studio is made up of two "circles of trust".
1st circle. Everyone we've "been to war with", done major rollouts; people we know, trust, and have history with.
2nd circle. Some of those folks have their own circle, and we bring them in too.
We're not a marketplace, we're not an Upwork. We're a tight-knit circle of B2B experts that have "been there, done this before", and been through many exits and M&As.
What are Plays and Playbooks?
Our methodology is very similar to that of Private Equity, where they have a Shared Services group that supports their entire portfolio of companies. We call it a Venture Studio, but the goal is the same: lower cost of talent (fractional, shared), with fast + reliable output (playbooks). Our version of it:
1. Playbooks. The critical infrastructure of B2B SaaS is complicated, but very repeatable. We have 5 Playbooks we can run, including GTM, Security, Fundraising, AWS, and more.
2. Plays. Each Playbook is broken up into smaller Plays that you can run start-to-finish in a month, in easy to follow progressions from Rookie > Semi-Pro > Pro.
3. Venture Studio. Our studio team is the experts we know and trust, who can run these critical Plays with you, and tailor them to your org.
What regions are you most active in?
Our primary regions are North Carolina, Texas, Toronto, and Calgary. We run them like a circuit, so we can meet our Founders, Investors, Accelerators, and local Allstars for events, workshops, and 1:1 meetups.
We aim to add 1-2 new regions each year, with an "anchor" Accelerator and local Ambassador, and are exploring Nevada and Denver right now.
That said, we have Ventures in our portfolio across the USA and Canada, and we'll be launching a more global footprint in 2027 with our "DIY Accelerator Platform".
What stage do you most work with?
We like to start earlier with a venture, as we'd say, "when they really need help" (before they've hit it big). Our goal, as we've done with a number of ventures now, is to help you see it through to the finish line, and onto your next endeavor!
Practically speaking, most ventures start with us when they have 10-30 headcount, as the economics at that point are very easy.
Do you invest in companies, or take an equity stake?
We have a small, proprietary pipeline for exits, and can help support phases of M&A. However, we are not currently a financial Investor.
At this time, we focus more on "investor readiness", using our experience with investment to make sure you "show up like a Pro" when you do engage with Investors.
